WINCH LEADERS
If your agency has a winch, this safety tool should be available to allow for safe winch operations. It is also designed to remind operators that they need to know and understand the limits of their winch and associated rigging equipment. The winch leader is made of 1″ wide strap and sewn with a polyester thread. Overall, it is between 11-12″ long and has an opening approximately 2″ in diameter to attach to the winch hook.
